Summer is right around the corner, now is a great time to give your garden a seasonal refresh with these heat and humidity loving plants. We have a great selection at both store locations of these colorful Annual and Perennials.
- Portulaca and Purslane are great drought loving groundcovers, used for mass plantings and for hanging baskets. Both are easy care, just give them full sun and be sure not to over water, they love sandy well draining soil and will reward you with many colorful flowers through out the season.
-Gaura is an easy to grow, full sun loving low maintenace plant. Most grow to around 24" tall, with its pink or white flowers and airy form, they're great planted in a mixed perennial boarder giving a wild flower look to them. Available in pink and white.
-Caladiums come in a variety of colors, patterns and sizes. A fast growing, tropical foliage plant, they're great for containers, baskets and boarders. Caladiums thrive in morning sun with well drainging moist soil and would make a great addition to any shady area in your garden.
-Pentas thrive in full sun and well drained soil. They come in a variety of colors such as white, red, purple and various shades of pink. Most Pentas grow about 15" wide and 2-3ft tall so be sure to leave ample room when growing in garden beds. Pinch back for a bushier growth.
-Coleus are a tender perennial, they come in a variety of colors, shapes and patterns. Coleus love morning sun, shade and heat, they're great for mass planting in garden beds or in container planting. They prefer a rich, moist soil with good drainage, pinch stem tips to promote branching and a fuller,bushier plant.
